Tom Burr

Moods

Tom Burr’s sculptures and collages create an assemblage of individual works oscillating between interior, cat walk, architectural elements and abstract forms.

The titles of the works as well the objects themselves refer to various personalities such as Jean Cocteau, Jack Kerouac and Truman Capote.

In the catalogue essay, Anke Kempkes comments, ‘Site Specifity, Minimalism, the innuendo styles of Dandyism, Camp, and gay subculture have been analyzed as main and interlocking trajectories in his œuvre’.

Published to accompany the exhibition Moods, at Wiener Secession, April – June, 2007.
