Exploring NU Architectuuratelier

Exploring NU Architectuuratelier’, a monograph on the Belgian architecture office.

NU architectuuratelier is an office for architecture and design research whose ambition is to develop and question spatial projects in collaboration with artists or experts from different fields.

By approaching the design process empathically, NU aims to make a qualitative contribution to our social and spatial environment.

This book is NU’s first monographic publication. It shows some of the office’s main realisations through plans, drawings and photographs by Belgian architectural photographer Stijn Bollaert.

NU architectuuratelier has been nominated several times for such national and international prizes as the EU Mies van der Rohe Award (2006 and 2013), the Grand Prix Archizinc Trophy (2006), the Provincial Architecture Prize East Flanders (2007), the Belgian Prize for Architecture and Energy (2013) and the Flemish Monuments Prize (2013).

Published on occasion of the exhibition ‘‘Play. NU architectuuratelier’, 18th Oct 2023 – 28 Jan 2024, Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels – a monographic exhibition dedicated by A+ Architecture in Belgium and Bozar.

NU architectuuratelier was founded in 2004 by Armand Eeckels (*1973) and Halewijn Lievens (*1975) in Ghent, Belgium.
