AGWA 2006-2022

In ‘AGWA 2006-2022′, twenty-three projects are presented through various documents that explore AgwA’s process of thinking and building architecture.

Founded between 2003 and 2006 in Brussels, AgwA proposes an architecture that leaves room for the evolution of the building over time and for the appropriation of its users. Its architectural practice testifies to a societal commitment and strives to respond to contextual, structural, programmatic, economic, human and environmental issues.

Together with two essays and an interview with the architects, this accumulation of drawings, sketches, scale models, plans and photographs illuminates the current condition of Belgian architecture – its roughness and playfulness – exploring and revealing the societal and cultural relevance of the materials, context, spatial gestures and structures within architecture.

This monograph is published within the framework of the exhibition ‘Dispositions’ dedicated to the work of AgwA, that takes place at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels from October 12, 2022 to January 8, 2023.

The exhibition is a co-produced project from Bozar Centre for Fine Arts and A+ Architecture in Belgium.
