Two new Slimvolume titles launch on Fri 15 July

Two new Slimvolume titles are launching this weekend at Connor’s Bar, The Hat Factory, Luton (Fri 15 July, 6.30 – 10.00 pm).

The first, Cally Spooner, contains this artist’s complete scripts to date: Writer, artist, playwright, curator and serial collaborator, Spooner’s works defy categorisation, ‘….she produces performative readings and extroverted contemplations of her own written dialogues to script the anxieties and slippages involved in turning thought into text, text into action and action into self-contained dramas.’

The second is Disappearing Curtains by Paul Buck, which sees the re-emergence of the seminal 1970s magazine, Curtains, that he edited. This re-emergence follows on from a Focal Point Gallery exhibition in 2012, which picked up on earlier work at Cabinet Gallery in 1992, centred around the concept of ‘disappearance’. For this title Buck invited contributions from 13 different artists that he has worked with over the years. Consolidating these with ideas that he has also encountered in the intervening years, Curtains refuses to disappear!
