This publication accompanies the re-opening exhibition at Arnolfini after a two-year closure for a major redevelopment project.
Exploring themes that range from the global and the universal to the personal and the intimate, it reflects on the steady march of time, the trauma of progress, the inevitability of loss and the wreckage of history.
At the same time it examines our responsibility to our troubled present and invites us to consider the way in which this present is constructed. Invoking ghosts, spectres, phantoms and angels to bear both testament and witness, it collapses the past onto the present.
