Simon Dybbroe Møller

Black, white, gray, cyan, magenta, yellow

The work of Danish artist Simon Dybbroe Møller connects art with the findings of natural science. The pieces in the series Black, White and Gray (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) are based on a blown-up room-sized installation view.

To produce this view, Møller printed blown-up black and white photographs, divided into over two thousand A4 sized pieces of paper, with an inkjet printer and papered the individual sheets to the gallery wall.

In combination, the sheets of paper compose and re-create an installation shot from an exhibition of minimalist sculpture and painting at the Atheneum Museum in Wadsworth, Connecticut, USA in 1964.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition at MMK, Frankfurt and featuring the work of artists Jo Baer, Walter De Maria, Jim Dine, Donald Judd, Gary Judd, Gary Kuehn, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, Robert Ryman, Cy Twombly, and Andy Warhol.
