Roman Signer has substantially expanded the notion of sculpture in a host of inimitable ‘actions’ that have made him one of Switzerland’s most renowned contemporary artists.

Less known are his ‘travel photographs’ that record more or less chance encounters and events.

Items shaped by the forces of nature or fashioned by hands unknown often recall Signer’s own objects.

He is an accidental photographer with a keen, sympathetic eye for the whimsy of anonymous sculptures.
