Special Meat Occasional Drink is the first monographic catalogue of the young Californian artist Kathryn Andrews and presents her work in chronological order, thus plotting the development of her conceptual work.

Her sculptures deal with the questions of authorship, reception and the consumption of art works in a variety of ways, as well as the question of how and to what extent art can be exhibited. Michael Ned Holte and Tim Grifffin pursue these questions and illuminate the work of the artist.

Kathryn Andrews gives an insight into her working methods in conversation with Philipp Kaiser and together they discuss the references to Los Angeles and Californian conceptual art in her works.
