Published to accompany the 2008 Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Visual Art, Cross Section documents the Gi Festival and acts as a record for all the projects involved, with full colour images of work by the artists, including projects by Wilhelm Sasnal, Adel Abdessemed, Rodney Graham, Simon Starling, Jim Lambie, Melanie Gilligan, Kalup Linzy, Simon Yuill, Catherine Yass, and Alasdair Gray.

It also functions as a snapshot of Glasgow’s art scene in 2008. Cross Section includes texts by Kate Davis, Luca Frei, Melanie Gilligan, Alasdair Gray, Babak Ghazi, Fiona Jardine, Jan Verwoert and Faith Wilding, ranging from philosophical polemic and artistic dialogues through autobiography to fiction all within a creative writing vein.
