‘Art Can Heal’ tells the remarkable story of the pioneering Icelandic artist and art therapist, Sigríður Björnsdóttir.

From 1952 she developed methods to help children in hospitals experience and explore their thoughts and emotions through art.

Born in 1929 in Iceland, Björnsdóttir was married to the Swiss/German artist Dieter Roth from 1957-1964.

The book includes an interviews with the artist by Swiss art curator, Hans-Ulrich Obrist, as well as others.

Co-ordinated by renowned Icelandic visual artist, Egill Sæbjörnsson.
