ZOOM!

Picturing Architecture and the City

ZOOM! is intended to serve as the basis for a reassessment of current architectural photography.

In the selected works on display by 17 photographers, it is clear that the ‘architecture without architects’ that currently defines the living conditions of the majority of the global population is in the process of producing a different kind of architectural photography.

The pictures draw attention to places unfamiliar to most viewers since they are not part of the workaday world or are off the beaten track.

The photographers have undertaken their own research for this purpose, in many cases talking to occupants, residents, and citizens. They have tried to approach these special habitats in different ways, and to raise critical questions about their documentation.
