Yoshitaka Amano

Yoshitaka Amano is a diverse, prolific artist and thoroughly modern superluminary in the revered worlds of Japanese manga, anime and video games. In a similar manner as how his use of ink on rice paper resonates historically with centuries of Japanese drawing tradition, there is in Yoshitaka Amano’s deftly casualized drawing style a mediation of calligraphy.’ (Carlo McCormick) This publication accompanies an exhibition held at Leo König Inc, New York, June 25 – August 3, 2002.
