Wade Guyton

Zeichnungen für lange Bilder. Kunsthalle Zürich

The colour of Wade Guyton’s kitchen floor determines the titles of the volumes of his artist book series Drawings. After BLUE (Museum Ludwig, Cologne, 2010) and RED (Wiener Secession, 2011) comes YELLOW (Kunsthalle Zürich).

Each volume contains a collection of pages taken from catalogues or magazines and overprinted with simple geometric shapes. Guyton photographs these pages as a pile on his kitchen floor, which is now yellow.

Every time the reader turns the page, they see that Guyton has removed one drawing from the stack, thereby connecting the reader directly with the artist’s production phase.

Published alongside an exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich (31 August to 10 November 2013).
