Wade Guyton

Zeichnungen für ein kleines Zimmer

As part of his exhibition at the Secession in Vienna, Wade Guyton has produced an artist’s book, which links back to the book he made for the Museum Ludwig exhibition in Cologne in 2010.

He sums up his artistic work, as it were, on more than sixty double-sided colour pages.

He visually demonstrates his artistic working method, which often involves using images and extracts from books or art magazines that have already been reproduced. The pile of images and cut-outs from magazines on the first page shrinks the further one leafs through the book.

Guyton explains where he found which motif, why he chose which format. In turn, Wade Guyton’s painting, which – like the book – refers to the production process and the source material itself, is opened up to the reader.
