A collection of essays, thoughts, stories and articles that interrogate our understanding of Live Art created by artists of Chinese descent. The book is packed with performance photos and archive images. The book is equally useful as an academic reference book, or an introduction to those new to this area.
Perhaps most interesting are the essays and musings of some of the key Chinese Live Artists of our time, offering us a window into the theory and motivations behind their work.
The book is a legacy to the two Vital festivals, run by Chinese Arts Centre in 2006 and 2007, and manages to capture the excitement and risks the artists and audience felt.
English and Chinese text.
