Smoke pays homage to smoking and is a small consolation for smokers. The growing negative attitude toward smoking in public places – restaurants, cafés or bars – is countered with photographs which illustrate the positive sides of smoking. Feldmann, who smoked for 30 years, would like to cheer up smokers with this artist’s picture book. Showing the small pleasurable moments of smoking, he stages an ironic criticism of the ‘politically correct’ ban on smoking.
