Introduction by Terry R. Myers
essay by David Rimanelli
American artist Robert Overby (1935-93) enjoyed a successful career as a graphic designer before shifting his fame to the fine arts. He was largely overlooked in his lifetime, but ten years after his death he has become a revival figure for contemporary art. This book presents works from Overby’s oeuvre including painting, sculpture, and celebrates his posthumous ‘second life’ as an artist who made a significant contribution to modern art.
Presents work from the artist’s first solo exhibition in Europe at Haunch of Venison Yard 2004.
