To mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, Die Neue Sammlung/The Design Museum in Münich publishes for the first time its most important Bauhaus objects and sets them in dialogue with contemporary art.
Five artists have, in discourse with Bauhaus objects they have themselves selected, each developed a piece of their own: fashion designer Ayzit Bostan, author Barbara Köhler, architect Anupama Kundoo, composer Junya Oikawa, and artist Sofie Thorsen.
These selected objects from the iconic Bauhaus period include textiles by Anni Albers, toys by Alma Buscher and Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack, works in metal by Otto Rittweger and furniture by Marcel Breuer among other influential figures.
Published on the occasion of the exhibition, Reflex Bauhaus: 40 Objects – 5 Conversations at Die Neue Sammlung/The Design Museum, Pinakothek der Moderne, Münich (8 February 2019 – 2 February 2020).
Co-published with Design Museum, Münich.
