The 10 young contemporary German photographers featured in this title follow in the footsteps of the first generation of students of Bernd Becher at the Art Academy Düsseldorf. Photographers such as Thomas Struth, Candida Höfer, Axel Hütte and later Andreas Gursky practised a form of documentary photography that was internationally known. More recently, however, a vivid, heterogeneous photography scene has developed which cannot be associated with any particular region or any dominant style.

Selected by curator Thomas Weski, Presentation Representation features works from contemporary German photographers, each represented by a large group of works. This book is appropriately concluded by a short interview with each photographer.
