Photography for Architects

The Photographic Collection of the Architekturmuseum München

Photography mediates architecture and also often shapes its perception. Since its invention, photography has served architecture in the presentation of buildings as well as in the education of architects.

The themes, functions and possibitlities of photography in the mediation of architecture are introduced here by means of the Architekturmuseum’s large photographic collection.

In the first section, the motifs and forms of a collection of exemplary architecture are presented. Further examples show the application of photography during the design phase.
