This catalogue accompanies Paulina Olowska’s exhibition at Kunstverein Braunschweig. Olowska uses pieces of furniture, different stylistic eras and blackout systems to create an uncanny and, at the same time, cozy atmosphere.

She transforms the villa into a metaphor for a surrealistic short story written by her friend the Scottish artist, Lucy McKenzie. This tragi-comic tale of the friendship between two women is the narrative thread that runs through Paulina Olowska’s world.

Also included is Desky Maidens, an audio cassette recording of a short story written by Lucy McKenzie.
