Sculptures, drawings, film stills and biographical photos in an unusual, surprising layout provide an informative look into Paloma Varga Weisz’s lengthy practice.

The artist book, Bumped Body is the result of a close collaboration between Paloma Varga Weisz and the photographer Stefan Hostettler, who has followed her work with his camera over the course of the last 20 years.

The ensuing picture book raises her sculptures like actors on to the stage, where details from Varga Weisz’s sculptural works interweave with her drawings, stills from her films and photos taken from her personal life.

The book features an essay by Paula van den Bosch, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition, Paloma Varga Weisz: Bumped Body at Bonnefantenmuseum, Maastricht (6 October 2019 – 2 February 2020) and Henry Moore Institute (13 March – 28 June 2020).
