New Life

David Burrows

This is the first major publication on the work of David Burrows who has developed a diverse practice both as a member of the artist’s group BANK in the early ‘90s and as an individual.

Most recently he has worked on a series of photographs and installations of cut foam and rubber that depict disaster scenes and their aftermath and reflect the artists interest in formalism and popular entertainment.

This catalogue documents Burrow’s most ambitious exhibition project to date as well as previous work.

The publication includes a fictional text by Burrows that functions as a parallel to the exhibition as well as essays by Simon O’Sullivan, Lecturer in Visual Culture at Goldsmiths and Caroline Douglas, Curator, British Council that examine different aspects of his work.
