Mathias Bengtsson is one of a new generation of three-dimensional designers whose work straddles fine art and furniture design.
Bengtsson’s work yokes the Scandinavian tradition of creating organic forms through master craftsmanship with high-technology. His work has been shown across the world, from the Design Museum, London to the Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal.
This book marks 10 years of his practice, since becoming renown for his ‘slice’ chairs, constructed from hundreds of layers of laser-cut aluminium, plywood or cardboard. Each copy is bound in a limited edition screenprint.
