This paperback has been published on the occasion of the artist’s exhibition of paintings, installation and sculpture, The Centrifugal Soul at Blain|Southern London (7 April – 27 May 2017).

With full colour plates and detailed stills of Collishaw’s latest zoetrope, The Centrifugal Soul – the exhibition and catalogue explore Collishaw’s interest in a theory about why humans make and display art.

The book features a foreword by Craig Burnett, an essay titled The Expulsion of Mat Collishaw by Waldemar Januszczak, a text on The Centrifugal Soul by evolutionary psychologist, Geoffrey Miller and a conversation between Mat Collishaw and birds of paradise specialist and art critic, James Parry.
