Katharina Grosse

The interplay between Katharina Grosse’s painting and Richard Meier’s architecture of the museum heightens the contrast between rationalism and utopia.

The limits of the space, in this case the ‘White Cube’ are lifted in favor of a dialogue between color schemes, which not only develops within the individual paintings, but especially between the various pictures.

Katharina Grosse spans the whole of her career as a painter, from the beginning of the 1990s to the current day, across numerous full-page and double-page images. Grosse developed the concept for this catalogue herself.
