Ecce Homo / le Poseur is the first major monograph on the work of New York-based artist Jordan Wolfson providing a critical framework for the artist’s videos, films, and installations, with particular emphasis on Con Leche (2009), Animation, masks (2011), and Raspberry Poser (2012) – a suite of recent works based in the potentials and possibilities of computer-generated imagery and hand-drawn animation.
The film and installation work of Jordan Wolfson meanders between natural science and esotericism, education and entertainment. Drawing from multiple sources such as internet, TV commercials and music, the artist mixes fragments from modern and contemporary culture with his own footage.
Published alongside exhibitions at REDCAT, Los Angeles, 2 December 2012 – 27 January 2013, and SMAK, Ghent, 7 September 2013 – 5 January 2014.
