Gabriel Orozco

An Island Is A Circle

‘An Island Is A Circle’ spans the various bodies of work Gabriel Orozco created whilst living in Bali, Indonesia (2017–2019).

The book’s design was closely overseen by the artist himself and is profusely illustrated with images of his watercolour collages, drawings, tempera paintings and limestone Dés sculptures made in collaboration with professional artisans in Bali.

Uniquely, this new hardcover includes numerous images taken by Orozco at his workshop, giving the reader insight into his process.

Features an interview with Briony Fer (Professor of History of Art at University College London), and an essay by Mexican novelist, Pablo Soler Frost.

Published with Marian Goodman Gallery (New York), Galerie Chantal Crousel (Paris), and Rat Hole Gallery (Tokyo).
