Ferry Porsche

100 Years

The success story of the present-day Porsche AG is unimaginable with the life’s work of Ferry Porsche.

Under his leadership, the construction office founded by his father Ferdinand in 1931 became an independent automobile manufacturer that built the first sports cars named Porsche in 1948.

With the Porsche 356, and later the Porsche 911, Ferry Porsche realised his dream of ‘driving in its most beautiful form’. As a visionary and entrepreneurial personality he developed Porsche into an internationally leading sports car producer – into a brand that makes automobile fans around the world go into raptures.

This richly illustrated and elaborately designed biography documents the life of one of the world’s most important automotive pioneers whose ideas made industrial, design and business history.

This is the Porsche Museum’s official book on the occasion of Ferry Porsche’s 100th birthday and contains numerous unpublished pictures and documents from the historical archive of Porsche AG.

Published as part of the collectible series of books in the Edition Porsche Museum.
