Denis Doran

Salvaged

Features Brighton-based artist Denis Doran’s new photographic work, including his autobiographic stories drawn from a childhood in the North East. Here Doran’s work is conceived around the salvaging of 52 objects washed up on the beaches of Brighton and Whitley Bay, during each week of 2002.  Placed directly onto a scanner and transformed into digital images, the objects form an archive of contemporary detritus and become a metaphor for loss and the erosion of memory over time. A beautifully produced, limited edition book.
