Vinyl LP (picture disc) plus booklet.
Created during the exhibition David Shrigley: Laughterhouse at DESTE Foundation Project Space, Slaughterhouse, Hydra, Greece (19 June – 30 September 2018).
The goat sounds in this piece of music are taken from the documentary film Shrigley made for the exhibition Laughterhouse.
The goats in the documentary were filmed in Malta and Scotland, and were a response to the fact that the DESTE Foundation Project Space in Hydra was formally a slaughterhouse; something that hadn’t really been made reference to by other artists who have exhibited there.
Both dark and funny, Goat Music captures the humour of short video clips found on the internet with a more sobering revelation on what would have happened in the building before it became a space in which to show art.
