Book

Starting with the question ‘what do you use books for?’, this book explores different ways of reading and was developed by AaA collective and Mark Simmonds over a series of workshops at Bluecoat between July and October 2016.

Elements of the book are made up from printed matter found in the Bluecoat library.

AaA collective are a group of five people with learning disabilities, recruited from Halton Speak Out and Bluecoat’s own Blue Room project. They curated the exhibition Auto Agents, 26 Nov 2016 – 15 Jan 2017, Bluecoat, Liverpool, UK, which this book accompanies.

Auto Agents is part of the Art as Advocacy project: a three year study funded under the AHRC’s Collaborative Doctoral Award supported by research partners the University of Leeds, Halton Speak Out, a self advocacy group, and Bluecoat.
