Betsy Bradley

Chasing Rainbows

This publication explores the creative practice of Betsy Bradley (b. 1992), a Rugby-based painter.

Bradley’s paintings embrace chance and impulse as a way to free her artistic process and heighten the viewer’s experience.

‘Betsy Bradley: Chasing Rainbows’ discusses Bradley’s recent paintings which utilise translucent fabrics to dissolve the distinction between artwork, environment and viewer.

The catalogue accompanied Ikon’s exhibition of the same name, 3 December 2021 — 13 February 2022. This was Bradley’s first solo exhibition.

This publication features full-colour documentation of the exhibition, alongside photographs of Bradley creating artwork, her early work, and her visit to Japan.

It additionally includes a foreword by Ikon Director, Jonathan Watkins, followed by a conversation between Betsy Bradley and Ikon Curator, Melanie Pocock
