7 Special Collection Art Books, highlighted to celebrate the forthcoming, limited edition ‘Doug Aitken: Mirage‘ book, which lands this summer.
Dedicated to American artist, Doug Aitken’s three iterations of the ‘Mirage’ installation in Palm Springs, Detroit, and Gstaad (2017–2021), the forthcoming publication from JRP | Editions offers the reader an experiential book that shares some of the characteristics of the artwork – immersive emotion, disrupted perception, merging of the viewer and the landscape.
The book itself has been exquisitely designed and executed to reflect (a key word here) the project itself. Featuring cold foils, special inks, silver printing, and bound as a leporello to reflect on the mirror-like quality of the ‘Mirage’ project (the book is bound so that, when open, it can sit flat).
‘Doug Aitken: Mirage’ is a limited edition of 1000 that will become a collectible volume.
Here is a small selection of other titles from our extensive book list that qualify as ‘extra special’, be they limited editions, collectibles, conceptual or even rare books.
