Institute of International Visual Arts (Iniva)

Iniva (the Institute of International Visual Arts) explores the politics of race and global identities through the visual arts. We aim to diversify the mainstream and challenge the status quo by working across media with artists, curators, creative producers, writers and the public. Our publications advance critical thinking about cultural difference and the visual arts. We focus is on promoting the work of artists, writers and thinkers from diverse cultural backgrounds whose perspectives on modern and contemporary visual art and culture lead international discussion and debate. Iniva titles tend to cross boundaries between art history, visual theory and cultural studies. Essential reading for the critically engaged, they attract students, academics, arts professionals and interested readers internationally.
