Memory Marathon

Serpentine Gallery

Over three days, the Serpentine Gallery staged the Memory Marathon in 2012, the seventh Serpentine Gallery Marathon inspired by the annual Pavilion commission.

This multi-disciplinary event features a wide range of participants, including leading artists, architects, film-makers, musicians, scientists, theorists and writers in a continuous, performative programme of explorations, musical and theatrical performances, film screenings, discussions and experiments.

Among the more than 60 participants included former REM band vocalist Michael Stipe, filmmaker David Lynch, cultural historian writer Marina Warner, composer Gavin Bryars, neuroscientist Israel Rosenfield, and architect/designer Ron Arad.
