HOME celebrates contemporary Brazilian art

This Friday (22 July 2016) sees the preview of Behind the Sun, HOME‘s summer exhibition celebrating contemporary Brazilian art.

Gathering five distinctive artists reflecting the diversity and complexity of Brazil, this will be the first chance to see the exhibition, which then runs from Saturday 23 July until Sunday 2 October 2016.

All the exhibitors are winners of the Prêmio Marcantônio Vilaça CNI Sesi Senai, the largest contemporary art prize in Brazil, and it is a snapshot of new work across the country.

Artists included are: Berna Reale, Gê Orthof, Grupo EmpreZa, Virginia de Medeiros and Nicolas Robbio.

If this all whets your appetite, and you want to delve further, why not check out some of our Brazilian contemporary art books: Discover Brazil, Street Art Brazil, or go further back in time and take a look at Vivencias: Dialogues Between the Work of Brazilian Artists from the 1960s to 2002.
