This Friday sees the opening of this year’s ‘New Contemporaries’ show (Bluecoat, 9 July – 16 October 2016) as part of Liverpool Biennial 2016.
Selected by open submission, and touring around several different venues, the annual New Contemporaries exhibition features the work of new and emerging artists from art schools around the UK.
This year’s exhibition includes work of 46 artists that were chosen by guest selectors: Anya Gallacio, Alan Kane and Haroon Mirza.
Recognised both nationally and internationally, the show and its accompanying catalogues are considered a good source for current and future trends. Previous ‘New Contemporaries’ artists have included Keith Piper, Ed Atkins, Helen Chadwick, David Hockney, Chris Ofili and Simon Starling.
