Sophia Al Maria, Cecile B Evans, Shona Illingworth, Rachel Maclean and Heather Phillipson, alongside Mikhail Karikis have all been shortlisted for this year’s Jarman award for moving image. This £10,000 art prize, named after Derek Jarman who died in 1994, honors those UK artists whose work is in keeping with the Jarman spirit of ‘experimentation, imagination and innovation’.
