‘Making & Unmaking’ opens at Camden Arts Centre

Last Friday saw Camden Arts Centre open their latest artist-selected exhibition, Making & Unmaking: An Exhibition Curated by Duro Olowu (on now until 19 September 2016).

From Bauhaus jewellery and West African textiles, to contemporary portraiture and sculpture, the exhibition and its accompanying volume explores the rituals of making that underpin an artist’s work.

Olowu is a celebrated fashion designer whose bold innovations with colour, pattern and shape reveal his early Nigerian and European influences, as well as his ongoing fascination with the world. This is his third outing as a curator, and he has selected material from over 60 artists including rarely seen works by Chris Ofili and Irving Penn.
